This is my scene,  a real working farm with lots of trucks, but only one lonely cow walked by.

Later today, I couldn't resist trying to paint the long dark shadows that raked across the front lawn, I went out to the street at the end of our driveway.

This is the scene at the start, the shadows move quickly at this time of the day, and it's so much earlier than yesterday.

Here is the sight -size shot, and how I paint with the scene and the canvas next to each other. You'd think I'd be able to get the right tone to the light.

On Tuesday I went out to paint but forgot my camera, which was especially unfortunate because right in this scene was a majestic bald eagle resting before he got his dinner.

I know it's halfway through September, but everything takes time, so better late than never! Delavan Rd: milk and apples

I went to White Creek, with the idea I could do some shopping: milk, apples, meat, and cider, all the best from farms and people I know, what could be better than that?

There was a lot of green, and it had to be moderated, a lot.

There were some nice shadows, on a day I thought was going to be all rainy, a bonus day!

Here is where I ended up. I've done this scene before, and tripped up on the huge expanse of green, I think I put it in it's place today.

The morning had some nice light, and I got out in it before the clouds came.

My panel was away from the sun and even more shaded by the lift gate of my mini-van, and this makes the color/ tone much different than what I'm looking at.

I love shadows that cross roads, and zig-zags. This had both.

There were also some nice dark areas, of course this is as much a function of the bright back light.

The greens are really changing, I remiss in not painting since Monday, and everyday the wold changes.

I spent much of the week re-building a porch, and starting the kids back on their school schedule.  I like doing carpentry, but it's time consuming and exhausting, but it's done, and I painted

It's a great spot, but wide open, with a large expanse of fields and a ditch,  so it's a challenge.

Here is the scene at the end, pretty impossible.

My spot, a nice wide area, on a dirt road.

I got out earlier yesterday, this is down on Turnpike Rd.

I'm looking North, and the sun is low to the West, but my scene has some nice contrasts, the sky is bright and much of the foliage is in shadow.

There was more road than I had intended.

Here is here I ended up, I still had light, although the bright spots on the ground were getting small.

My spot, a paved town road, the traffic moves a little fast, but it's not too bad.

School started today, and it's been wall-to-wall, stuff and more stuff, so if I can paint I'll paint, if I must I'll blog when I can, thanks for being patient.  As always feel free to comment and ask questions. The blog has grown up a lot since I started it in January, 2013 and all things change, but I don't know how or what those changes will look like over time.
