This was taken by my now "real" fiend Greg Summers,  OK so maybe I could stand to loose a pound or two.....

Second painting for the day;  I liked the landscape framed by the trees and barn.

I'm not sure exactly how this happened.

The last scene of this, the 2nd day,  you can see my painter friends by the house, and otherwise the scene poses certain challenges, but had some teeth.

So there it is, 5 paintings.  Today I wanted to find an off campus river view, and turn in my painting, not necessarily in that order, tonight is the judging and auction, tomorrow is the "tent sale". Alane will be here tonight too!

This was my afternoon paint.

The guy painting is way too big.

That's better!

I felt like I had to do a painting with the house, which is magnificent as you can see. And I liked the lighting despite the cloudy day.

I traveled this morning, and got here just after 9:00,  It took me a while, I found this spot complete with a trestle , the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.

This place was literally built for this kind of vista, so when in Rome....

I was able to bolt myself down with the tree.

This is my spot, the far view looked almost too hazy today.

Happy 4th of July!

It rained all day, at about 6:30 the sky started to clear up, I went out!

I generally stay off of the county highways because the speed limit is 55mph, and often there isn't that much room to pull off the road, here I'm on the corner (of Wright Rd.) so there is plenty of room.

I've done this scene before, but my favorite tree is gone.

Earlier in the day, I found this spot, it's at a dam over the Battenkill in the Village of Greenwich.  I had painted the dam from the top of the embankment on the other side, where route 29 goes by, so I'm painting in a painting.

The thing with the brightly dappled light on my panel........

Sometimes I find scenes like this and there's almost too much stuff in it.

The edge of the water is read in the reflection.

I often try to just paint, because I don't have a handle on it.
